We feel fortunate to have such great partners with SIFF and we loved that they kicked off a conversation about racial equity in filmmaking, held as part of the SIFF Film Forum at the 45th festival. We're going to continue that conversation at this month's WIF monthly professional development event. Join representatives from the Northwest Film Forum, Tasveer South Asian Film Festival, Seattle Latino Film Festival, Langston Hughes African American Film Festival, and Seattle Asian American Film Festival for a probing conversation around experiencing and supporting Seattle's various filmmaking and filmgoing communities.
“Racial Cinequity” will take place on Wednesday, June 12th and is part of Women in Film's monthly professional series to support members and the larger film and media community. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS MOVED FROM OUR TRADITIONAL TUESDAY TO WEDNESDAY EVENING to accommodate panelists.
These WIF events are an opportunity to connect with peers, join a panel discussion, share stories of your latest gig, find out what's happening in the organization, show off a project or a work-in-progress, and have a glass of wine. Second Tuesday’s events are spirited, inspiring, educational, entertaining and fun. They are open to members of all levels - women and men. Entry for all paid members of Women in Film Seattle is free; guests and the general public: $6. Second Tuesday’s venues and dates change occasionally so check the website and our Facebook page for updates.
